Meet The Pilots
Rolf Spandenberg
Chairman
C-SJRS
Rolf was born in Northern Germany and has lived in Canada, both in Montreal and for the last 30 some years in the Saint John area, making him almost a native. He is in the insurance business. He has and continues to travel extensively regionally, nationally and internationally and enjoys flying to get to a destination. When he first installed the software, his family wondered aloud whether this was a fore runner to learning how to actually fly. This was of course denied .... somewhat.

I reside in Quispamsis and am retired after 37 years with (NBTel) Aliant. My interest in aviation began with my first flight out of Greenwood, NS in the navigators seat of an Argus CP 107. I was a member of the 161 CK Beveridge Air Cadet Squadron at the time. My other interests include woodworking and playing drums in a Pipe Band in Saint John. My preferred aircraft are the Learjet 45 and the Airbus A320. I look forward to meeting the others members of NBFS and developing some lasting friendships.
Favorite Aircraft: Learjet 45 and the Airbus A320
Kal White
Communications Officer
C-SJKW
I am currently serving as the Communications Officer for the YSJ Hangar. I  reside in Rothesay, NB with my very understanding wife. My interest in Flight Simulator began about 13 years ago but in the past 3 years, with great support from the YSJ Hanger guys, I even land now with the gear down.
I have flown hundreds of thousands of miles while I worked and was treated most of those flights to being in the jump seat and as a result, Flight Simulator has become a passion of mine ever since.
I have met a great group of guys since becoming a member of FSNB and hope to meet many more through this enjoyable hobby.  Please excuse the photo as I had it age enhanced so that I would look like the others.

I am married to a very patient man who lets me take on these various, most interesting hobbies.  I have lived in Saint John all my life.  I was in Army Reserves with No 6 Militia Group and RCASC for approximately 10 years.  I worked for almost 20 years at Centracare ( formerly the old Provincial Hospital).  I am now retired and enjoy my computer, bowling, darts and gaming all of which have allowed me to meet a lot of wonderful people and make a lot of new friends.  Look forward to meeting some more through my new hobby.  I have no experience with flight sims but have always been interested in planes. I was first introduced to Flight Sim only a few days ago by a FSNB Member while visiting his home.
Bernd Lorber
C-SJBL
My interest in flight began when I was 10 years old.  I went to an Airshow in Graz Austria and have been interested in flying ever since. I found it difficult to afford flying lessons and the dream got put on hold until years later living in Canada I was invited to fly with a friend from Maine who had a Citavia converted stunt Plane.
Once up in the air he let me fly from Brewer to St Stephen not landing the plane. What a thrill and again it sparked my urge to fly again. Two years ago my wife bought me a flight simulator package and I am hooked for life.
I am flying nearly everyday and learn new things and mostly what is important to me are my flying Buddies having lots of fun and teaching one another. Plus,  as my Wife tells her friends "I know where he is now that he is retired".

I was born in Amos, Quebec, but lived most of my adult life in Labrador City, NF.  where I met my wife Sandra and we raised 4 children.  I worked for the Iron Ore Co. of Canada for 37 years on an automatic train system.  I learned to fly with tail draggers in the 60’s in Lab City but got my licence in Sept Iles, Quebec, flying a Cessna 150 and a Cherokee 140.   My wife is from Sussex and when we were visiting home years ago we bought a cottage on the beautiful Belleisle Bay where we are presently  retired.  I never completed my goal to get an instrument rating so the next best thing was to learn via flight simulator.  I joined FSNB at one of the presentations at Staples in Quispamsis, and have received help from many members with setting up my system.  I have met several members who share the joy of flight simulator and look forward to learning more in the future.  Other interests include boating and model railroading.

I have had n interest in aviation for many years, experience as a passenger with bush flying in Beavers, Otters, Twin Otters, Cessna 185, Hughes 500 C,D during years of mineral exploration in Saskatchewan. Started with Microsoft Flight Simulator in early 80's on a Mac Classic and now enjoying X-Plane on the iMac and joining online with VATSIM

Michael Partridge
C-SJMP.
My interest and experience with Flight Sims goes back to the early 1980's, I was selling office equipment and when we expanded our lineup to computers the first demo systems included a copy of MS Flight Simulator 1.0a (the green coil book with the 5.25" floppy). I fired it up and have been hooked ever since...I am a network Administrator now and also administrator for a large Flight Simulator Message Board (www.sim-outhouse.com) and a few Hard of hearing Message boards. My computer and Flight Sim experience spans over 25 years and I have quite a collection of Sim programs and related accessories, and I think I have successfully crashed just about anything that can take off.
